Anthony Benjamin Smith is a Minister of Music, gospel artist, songwriter, arranger, and producer whose ministry spans more than four decades across the United States, Europe, and Asia. A native of Charleston, South Carolina, he began playing piano at age eight and was serving as a church musician by age eleven, laying the foundation for a lifelong calling in gospel music and ministry.
Anthony has served as Minister of Music in Germany, Korea, South Carolina, Oklahoma, and Virginia. His ministry leadership includes Kleber Chapel Gospel Service (Kaiserslautern, West Germany), Memorial Chapel Church of God in Christ (Yongsan, Seoul, Korea), the Korea Mission’s seven-church choir network, Full Gospel Evangelical Church & TV Ministry (Columbia, SC), Gunston Chapel, Fort Belvoir, VA (1994–2005), Emmanuel AME Church, Stafford, VA (1999–2003), and Dale City Christian Church (DCCC), Dale City, VA (2004–2018).
He is the founder of Smith Gospel Music & Records and JoAntoni Publishing (BMI), with more than 50 copyrighted gospel songs registered with the U.S. Copyright Office. His work has received national recognition, including honors in the Billboard Song Contest for his song "Praise the Lord". His projects, such as "Don’t Quit – You Can Make It" and "Go On – You Can Make It", reflect his core message of faith, perseverance, and encouragement for a troubled world.
A retired United States Army Sergeant Major (E-9), Anthony brings the same discipline, leadership, and excellence from his military career into every aspect of his music ministry. Through choirs, ensembles, workshops, recordings, and teaching, he remains committed to glorifying God and inspiring believers to press toward the mark of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
